GM China sales up 30.4% in Feb

Mar. 7, 2012 (China Knowledge) - U.S.-based auto giant General Motors Corp and its China joint ventures sold a total of 240,554 vehicles in February this year, representing a year-on-year increase of 30.4%, due to a low comparable figure and the robust sales of Buick vehicles, said the automaker in a statement.
 
Shanghai General Motors Co Ltd, the joint venture between GM and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp, sold 103,097 cars last month, reflecting the highest February sales on record. The JV delivered 52,773 Buick vehicles last month, up 31.1% year on year.

FAW-GM, the joint venture between GM and FAW Group, saw its sales jump 39.2% year on year to 7,068 units in February.

In the first two months of this year, GM and its China joint ventures sold 487,208 cars in total, 7.7% more than in the same period of last year.
