Feb. 27, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China saw sales revenue in software industry total RMB 1.84 trillion in 2011, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 32.4%, said the National Development and Reform Commission
Last year, the country produced 71.96 billion integrated circuits, or chips, 10.3% more than in 2010. The chip import volume grew 6.6% from a year earlier to 214.41 billion with import value of US$170.2 billion, up 8.4% from a year earlier.
Revenue derived from software sector stood at RMB 1.57 trillion in East China in 2011, accounting for 85% of the total or increasing 31.7% from a year earlier.
In West China last year, software sales revenue amounted to RMB 180.9 billion with an increase of 43%, 10.6% percentage higher than the average level in the country. Central China realized RMB 100.3 billion in revenue of such industry last year, up 24.8% from year earlier.
China's export value in software sector totaled US$30.4 billion in 2011, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 18.5%, 18 percentage points lower than in 2010, according to statistics released by the Beijing
Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology.
