Feb. 13, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Sales of the Volkswagen Tiguan ranked first among sport-utility vehicles in China
with sales of 20,400 units in January 2012, according to a report released by the China
Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
The Great Wall Hover ranked second with 12,400 vehicles sold units, followed by the Nissan Qashqai with 10,600 units, the Chery Tiger with 8,100 units, the Toyota RAV4 with 7,100 units, the Audi Q5 and Honda CRV each with 6,500 units, the BYD S6 with 5,800 units, the Hyundai IX35 with 5,200 units and the Toyota Highlander with 5,000 units.
Total sales of the above ten SUV models reached 87,600 units, accounting for 69.36% of the total sales in China
As for multi-purpose vehicles or MPVs, the Dongfeng Jingyi ranked first with 6,008 sold units in January 2012, followed by the Buick GL8 with 5,267 units and the JAC Refine with 4,291 units.
Sales of top ten MPV models accounted for 88.22% of the total MPV sales in China
and reached 32,200 units.
