Feb. 10, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Trade value of mainland China with Hong Kong
hit US$ 283.52 billion in 2011, up 23.0% year on year, according to the latest statistics released by the Ministry of Commerce
The figure accounted for 7.8% of the China's total foreign trade during the reporting period. China's exports to Hong Kong
were US$268.03 billion, up 22.8% year on year.
In December alone, trade volume between China and Hong Kong
rose 11.2% month on month to US$29.06 billion. The mainland's exports to Hong Kong
increased 13.6% month on month to US$28.01 billion and its imports from Hong Kong
fell 28.4% month on month to US$1.06 billion.
In the whole of 2011, the mainland approved 13,889 Hong Kong
-invested projects, 6.27% more than that in 2010. Hong Kong
's direct investment was US$70.50 billion during the period, up 16.4% year on year.
As of December last year, a total of 336,280 Hong Kong
-funded projects had been approved, and actual utilized FDI totaled US$526.71 billion. Funds from Hong Kong
accounted for 45.1% of mainland China's total.
