Feb. 6, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Mazda Motor Corp, a Japanese automobile maker, sold a record 22,740 vehicles in China in January this year, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 14%, sources reported.
Last month, FAW Mazda Motor Sales Co Ltd, a joint venture between FAW Group and Mazda Motor, sold 15,057 vehicles in China, up 13% from a year earlier.
In the same period, Changan Mazda, established by Chongqing Changan Automobile Co Ltd<000625
> and Mazda Motor, saw its China sales increase 15% year on year to 7,683 autos.
The Japanese vehicle manufacturer owns 367 4S stores as of the end of January 2012.
In 2011, Mazda's China sales fell 10% year on year to 214,799 units.
