China Shenhua's coal output up 25.4% in 2011

Jan. 31, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China Shenhua Energy Co Ltd<601088><1088>, the country's largest coal producer, said yesterday that it produced 281.9 million metric tons of commercial coal last year, reflecting a year-on-year increase by 25.4%.
In 2011, the coal company sold 387.3 million metric tons of coal, 32.4% more than that in 2010. Of the total sales, 5.6 million metric tons were exported, down 45.6% compared with the preceding year.

China Shenhua Energy also said its electricity output surged 27.5% year on year to 179.97 terawatt hours (TWhs) in 2010, and its electricity sales jumped 27.5% year on year to 167.61 TWhs.

In December last year, the company's coal output rose 27.5% year on year to 24.6 million metric tons and its coal sales surged 56.6% year on year to 38.2 million metric tons.
