Jan. 30, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China saw the market size of online advertisement accumulate RMB 51.19 billion in 2011, 57.3% more than in 2010, according to statistics released by an internet and telecommunication research company.
The market size was RMB 5.83 billion more than the traditional media, mainly including newspapers and magazines, which were generated last year.
Analysts at the research company estimated that China's market size in online advertising industry would surge 54.5% to RMB 79.09 billion in 2012, increase 35.4% to RMB 107.1 billion in 2013, grow 33.2% to RMB 142.7 billion in 2014 and increase 31.3% to RMB 187.32 billion in 2015.
In 2011, 36.7% of China's online advertising market shares were held by search engines, while web portals have a market share of 15.5%, vertical portals 15%, e-commerce online platforms 17.5%, independent video sharing sites 7.1% and social networking sites 3.2%.
