's mobile Internet market surged 97.5% year on year to RMB 39.31 billion last year, due to improved environment for mobile Internet and an increase in smart phone users according to the latest report released by Research Consulting Group.
The mobile E-commerce saw its share in the mobile Internet market rise further to 29.2% in 2011 from 11.2% in 2010.
However, the mobile value-added sector saw its share in the market fall to 46.5% last year from 58.3% in the previous year.
The report said that the year 2012 will see booming innovative Internet applications and the more traditional Internet enterprises will accelerate its expansion into the mobile Internet industry.
The country's mobile Internet market is expected to grow nearly 150% to RMB 97.62 billion this year as well as reach RMB 425.27 billion in 2015.
