Jan. 17, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Sales of the Great Wall Hover ranked first among sport-utility vehicles in China
with sales of 164,400 units in 2011, according to a report released by the China
Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
The Honda CRV ranked second with 160,000 sold units, followed by the Volkswagen Tiguan with 129,200 units, the Nissan Qashqai with 111,300 units and the Hyundai IX35 with 103,000 units.
Total sales of the above five SUV models reached 667,900 units, accounting for 42% of the total sales in China
As for multi-purpose vehicles or MPVs, the Dongfeng Jingyi ranked first with 73,100 sold units in 2011, followed by the Buick GL8 with 66,900 units, the JAC Refine with 58,200 units, the FAW-Jilin Senya with 41,100 units and the Volkswagen Touran with 31,200 units.
Sales of these five MPV models accounted for 54% of the total MPV sales in China
and reached 270,500 units.
