Volkswagen Automotive Co Ltd sold 95,000 sedans in China in December 2011, ranking first in the top ten automaker list released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
FAW-VW Automobile Co Ltd ranked second with sales of 82,000 sedans, followed by Shanghai
General Motors Co Ltd with 73,600 units, Dongfeng Nissan Ltd with 64,500 units, Guangqi Honda with 48,700 units, Beijing
Hyundai Motor Co with 48,400 units, Chery Automobile Co Ltd with 48,100 units, Geely Holding Group Co Ltd with 45,200 units, FAW Toyota with 44,600 units and Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Co Ltd with 42,100 units.
Last month, the combined sales volume of the ten automakers amounted to 592,200 units, accounting for 62% of the total sedan sales in the country.
Honda Accord is China's best-selling sedan model in December 2011, with sales of 25,000 units, followed by Volkswagen Lavida with 24,100 units and Volkswagen Polo with 21,700 units, according to a separate report from the CAAM.
