Jan. 13, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Sales of the Great Wall Hover ranked first among sport-utility vehicles (SUV) in China
with sales of 23,100 units in December, according to a report released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
The Honda CRV ranked second with 174,00 units were sold, followed by the BYD S6 with 15,000 units, the Toyota RAV4 with 12,800 units and the Hyundai ix35 with 11,000 units respectively.
Total sales of the above five SUV models reached 79,300 units, accounting for 46% of the total sales in China last month.
As for multi-purpose vehicles or MPVs, the Dongfeng Jingyi ranked first with 6,511 units were sold in December, followed by the Dongfeng Fengxing Lingzhi with 5,279 units, the FAW-Jilin Senya with 3,958 units, the Buick GL8 with 3,197 units and the Mazda Premacy with 3,136 units respectively.
Sales of these five MPV models accounted for 49% of the total MPV sales in China last month, reaching 22,100 units, according to a separate report from CAAM.
