>, China's No.1 carmaker, announced yesterday that its auto sales rose 13.2% year on year to 327,100 units in December.
The company said in a statement filed with the Shanghai Stock Exchange
that it sold a total of 4.01 million vehicles last year, 12.01% more than that in the previous year.Shanghai
Volkswagen Automotive Co Ltd, a 50-50 joint venture set up with Volkswagen AG, sold 104,900 cars in December, up 12.3% year on year. The JV's total sales amounted to 1.17 million units last year, up 16.42% year on year.

General Motors Co Ltd, which the SAIC Motor established with General Motors, sold 80,500 cars last month, decreasing nearly 10% from two years earlier. Shanghai
GM delivered a total of 1.23 million vehicles in 2010, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 18.53%.
SAIC Motor said that its auto output rose 5.34% year on year to 362,900 units in December, taking its output in 2011 to a total of 3.97 million units, 9.71% more than that in 2010.
