Jan. 11, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co or TSMC, the world's largest contract chip maker by revenue, said today that its unconsolidated revenue was NT$30.57 billion in December, down 9.4% from NT$33.75 billion in the same month of last two years, sources reported.

The unconsolidated revenue last month reflected a 13.2% decline from NT$35.22 billion in November.

The company said that its consolidated revenue in December fell 10.4% year on year to NT$31.24 billion.

In the fourth quarter of 2011, the company's consolidated revenue totaled NT$104.71 billion, down 4.9% from the same period of 2010 and 1.7% from the third quarter.

In November, the company announced plans to invest US$1.06 billion in the expansion of its advanced technology process capacity. As the part of the plan, TSMC will add facilities to have a monthly output capacity of more than 100,000 12-inch wafers, China Knowledge reported earlier.
