Jan. 10, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China's insurance industry reaped RMB 1.43 trillion in insurance premiums in 2011, 10.4% more than that in the previous year, said the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC)
in a statement published on its website.
Xiang Junbo, Chairman of the CIRC
, said that the country's premium income from personal insurance business was RMB 969.98 billion last year, up 6.8% year on year.
The country's property insurance premium amounted to RMB 461.79 billion, reflecting a growth of 18.5% year on year.
At the end of last year, the industry's total assets had reached RMB 5.90 trillion.
The insurance industry recorded a 3.6% return on investment last year.
