Jan. 5, 2012 (China Knowledge) - The gross domestic product (GDP) in Sichuan
Province in Southwest China is expected to increase to more than RMB 2 trillion in 2011, said the local statistics bureau.
The bureau said that the province's economic growth last year was estimated to be about 5 percentage points higher than the national average in China.
For the first three quarters of 2011, Sichuan
reported a 14.7% GDP growth. The province's GDP expanded 15.1% in 2010 and 14.5% in 2009.
The province's value-added industrial output jumped 22.1% year on year in the first 11 months, 8.1 percentage points higher than the national average.
In 2010, the province's GDP totaled RMB 1.72 trillion, accounting for 4.28% of the country's total.
