Jan. 4, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China aims to increase its output of coal-bed gas to 30 billion cubic meters in 2015, 20 times the output in 2010, said the National Energy Administration
said in a coal-bed gas development program that the output comprises 16 billion cu m produced through surface drainage and 14 billion cu m from coal mines.
The country plans to add 1 trillion cu m of proven coal-bed gas reserves and also build two coal-bed gas industrial bases in Qinshui basin in Shanxi
province and Ordos
Basin in the Inner Mongolia
Autonomous Region by 2015.
The country will invest about RMB 120 billion in the production and utilization of coal-bed gas over the next four years and it will build 13 pipelines with a capacity of 12 billion cu m.
China has the world's third-largest coal-bed gas reserves, which are estimated at nearly 37 trillion cu m.
