Beijing Economic-technological Development Area, or
BDA, saw its
gross domestic product increase 15.1% year on year to RMB 26.01 billion in the first quarter of this year, according to the latest statistics released by the
Beijing Statistics Bureau.
The growth rate was almost the same as that in the whole of 2010. The area's
GDP in the first quarter accounted for 7.4% of the total in Beijing.
The
GDP in the first three months included RMB 250 million generated by the primary sector, 2.6% more than in the same period of last year, and RMB 12.93 billion by the tertiary sector, up 12.7% year on year.
RMB 12.83 billion were generated in the secondary sector in
BDA, 17.8% more than in the corresponding period of 2010. The value-added industrial output in the area jumped 20% year on year to RMB 11.98 billion in the first quarter, accounting for 46.1% of the area's
GDP during the period. The ratio was 1.9 percentage points higher than that in the same period of 2010.
The value-added industrial output in
BDA was more than that in any other area in Beijing and accounted for 17.8% of the city's total.
