Jul. 16, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Volkswagen AG announced that its auto sales in China, including Hong Kong, rose 17.5% YoY to 1.3 million units in the first half of this year, sources reported, boosted by strong sales of Volkswagen and Audi vehicles.
 
Volkswagen, which has joint ventures with SAIC Motor Corp Ltd<600104> and China FAW Group, saw its sales of Volkswagen vehicles reach 982,600 units in the period, up 15.2% YoY.

The company's sales of Audi vehicles in China surged 37.8% YoY to 193,900 units in the six-month period.

Volkswagen sold 1,037 Bentley cars and 174 Lamborghini vehicles in China in H1.

In 2011, the company's auto sales in China grew 17.7% YoY to 2.26 million units.
