Jul. 3, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China's revenue for software industry increased 27.2% YoY to nearly RMB 860.8 billion in the firs five months of this year, the
Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said.
The growth rate was 1 percentage point lower than that in the same period of 2011 and 1.2 percentage points lower than in the first four months.
In May, the industry's revenue rose 30.8% YoY or 12.5% MoM to RMB 208.77 billion.
Revenue from IT consulting services saw slower growth of up 26.3% YoY, reaching RMB 78.8 billion in the first five months, and that from the data processing and operating services grew 38.4% YoY to RMB 148 billion.
The software products’ sales rose 24.3% YoY to RMB 286.4 billion and that from information system integration services rose 23.8% to RMB 177.4 billion.
The embedded system software’s revenue saw higher growth of 28.8% YoY, hitting RMB 140.7 billion during the period.
The software industry's export value rose only 11.5% YoY to US$13.4 billion in the first five months. Outsourcing service exports grew 26.4% to US$2.94 billion in the period.
Software revenue in western China maintained high growth, jumping 31.2% YoY to RMB 85.7 billion in the five-month period.
