China's lottery sales up 26% in May

Jun. 21, 2012 (China Knowledge) – China saw its sales of lotteries increased 26.1% YoY to RMB 23.62 billion in May, according to the website of the country's Ministry of Finance.

Last month, China's welfare lottery sales grew by RMB 3.22 billion or 29.8% YoY to RMB 14.01 billion, while the sales of sports lottery amounted to RMB 9.6 billion, 21% more than it realized in the same period of last year.

The lottery sales in Jiangsu, Liaoning, Guangdong, Sichuan and Hunan Province showed a YoY increase of RMB 1.07 billion, RMB 469 million, RMB 392 million, RMB 281 million and RMB 265 million in May, respectively.

In the first five month of this year, the country's lottery sales rose 28.4% YoY to RMB 107.44 billion consisting of RMB 62.66 billion in welfare lottery and RMB 44.78 billion in sport lottery.
