Nov. 2, 2010 (China Knowledge) - French state-owned nuclear giant Areva is likely to ink an agreement worth US$3 billion with China Guangdong Nuclear Power Corp, sources reported.
Pursuant to the agreement, Areva will provide 20,000 tons of uranium to CNGPC in the next ten years.
According to the sources, both parties will sign the agreement during Chinese President Hu Jintao's state visit to France starting on Thursday.
Areva may announce progress in negotiations with CGNPC over the construction of two new EPR European Pressurized reactor power plants.
The French company is also likely to resume negotiations with China National Nuclear Corp over the construction of a nuclear reprocessing facility.
