May. 15, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Sales of the Great Wall Hover ranked first among sport-utility vehicles or SUVs in
China with 64,500 units sold between January and April, according to a report released by
China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
The Volkswagen Tiguan ranked second with 63,400 units, followed by the Honda CRV’s 54,100 units, Nissan Qashqai’s 45,700 units and Toyota RAV4’s 39,000 units.
Sales of the top ten SUV models totaled 412,800 units, accounting for 69.04% of the total SUV sales in
China in the first four months of this year.
Among multipurpose vehicles or MPVs, the Dengfeng Jingyi ranked first with 24,600 units sold in the four-month period, the Dongfeng Lingzhi with 22,600 units, Buick GL8’s 20,900 units, the JAC Refine’s 18,100 units and FAW Senya’s 14,500 units.
Sales of the top ten MPV models accounted for 86.49% of the total Chinese MPV sales, reaching 144,100 units.
