Hong Kong's biggest power supplier, has announced that its revenue surged 32.6% year on year to HK$21.85 billion in the first quarter of this year.
The company said in a statement that revenue from power business in Hong Kong rose 8.4% year on year to HK$7.03 billion.
The energy business in Australia generated HK$14.03 billion of revenue in the quarter, 51.1% more than in the same period of last year, due to contribution from energy assets acquired in March 2011.
The company sold 6.48 terawatt hours (TWh) of electricity in Hong Kong in the first quarter, reflecting a growth of 4.2% year on year. Electricity sold in mainland China soared 140.9% year on year to 473 gigawatt hours.
