Aug. 14, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China saw its crude steel output rose 4.2% from a year earlier to 61.69 million metric tons last month, according to the latest statistics released by the National Development and Reform Commission.

The figure last month was 2.5% more than it realized in Jun this year.

In July, the daily output of crude steel reached 1.99 million metric tons, 1% less than 2.01 million metric tons it realized in a month earlier.

From January to July 2012, the country's crude steel output amount to 419.46 million metric tons, 2.1% more than in the corresponding period of 2011.

Meanwhile, the National Development and Reform Commission said China's copper output edge up 0.8% YoY to 483,000 metric tons last month, leading its total output in the first seven months of this year to 3.4 million metric tons, up 9.2% from a year earlier.
