Jun. 18, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China Shenhua Energy Co Ltd<601088><1088>, the country's largest coal producer, produced 26.8 million tons of commercial coal last month, reflecting a YoY increase of 14%.

In a statement filed with the Shanghai Stock Exchange, the company said its coal sales for May increased 26.1% YoY to 41.5 million metric tons.

In the first five months of 2012, the company's commercial coal output totaled 130 million tons, up 12.8% YoY.

Total coal sales increased by 17.9% from a year earlier to 187 million tons from January to May.

The company said earlier that it intends to acquire equity interests of China Shenhua Coal Liquefaction and Chemical Co Ltd and Shaanxi Shenyan Coal Co Ltd from its state-owned parent co Shenhua Group Corp, China Knowledge reported earlier.
