Jun. 5, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China Huadian Corp, one of the five largest state-owned power generation enterprises in the country, yesterday kicked off construction of a thermal power plant in Bali, Indonesia.
General Manager Yang Yong said this is the fourth power facility China Huadian responsible for construction in Indonesian and also the firm's second controlling thermal power plant in the country.
The new facility is designed to power three 142-megawatts generators and is expected to go into operation in 2014. No more details, including investment, have yet been disclosed.
The launch of the thermal power plant will support electricity supply so to accelerate tourism development for the Bali Island, said Yi Zhenlong, vice president of Central Southern China Electric Power Design Institute, a division of China Power Engineer Consulting Group Corp.
