1088>, the country's largest coal producer, announced its net profit that grew 6.3% year on year to RMB 11.18 billion under Chinese accounting rules in the first quarter of this year.
Basic earnings per share were RMB 0.56 in the period.
The coal producer's operating revenue jumped 25.3% year on year to RMB 59.53 billion in the first three months.
The company produced 79.1 million metric tons of commercial coal in the period, reflecting an increase of 12.4% year on year. Coal sales grew 16.0% year on year to 108.3 million metric tons, and electricity output rose 19.6% to 43.85 terawatt hours (TWh).
China Shenhua Energy earlier reported a net profit of RMB 44.82 billion of net profit for 2011, 18.4% more than in the previous year, according to an
earlier report from China Knowledge.
