Mar. 12, 2010 (China Knowledge) - China produced 15.11 million tons of crude oil in February this year, or about 3.96 million barrels per day, 5.8% more than in the same month of last year, according to statistics released by the
National Bureau of Statistics.
The country's total crude oil output in the first two months of this year was 31.98 million tons, up 5.8% year on year.
Last month, the country produced 7.58 billion cubic meters of natural gas, 12.3% more than in the same month of last year. China's total natural gas output in the first two months of this year was 15.9 cubic meters, up 12.6% year on year.
In 2009, China produced 83 billion cubic meters of natural gas, 7.7% more than in the previous year. However, the output is still far less than the domestic demand. Official data showed that apparent consumption of the fuel in China grew 11.5% year on year to 87.45 billion cubic meters last year, according to an earlier report from China Knowledge.
