Jun. 7, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Honda Motor Co, a major Japanese carmaker, said its joint ventures in China sold 52,146 vehicles in the country in May this year, reflecting a YoY increase of 91.7%.
Guangqi Honda Automobile Co, a 50:50 joint venture hold by automaker Honda Motor Co and
Guangzhou Automobile Group Co, saw its auto sales for last month reached 27,243 units, up 81.6%. While another joint venture Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co sold 24,903 units, 104.1% more than in the same month of 2011.
In the first five months of 2012, Honda saw its China sales totaled 261,761 units, 10.8% more than the same period of last year.
Guangqi Honda Auto's sales amounted to 138,988 units from January to May, up 6.58% from the corresponding period of 2011, and Dongfeng Honda sold 122,773 units in the period, 16.1% more than a year earlier.
