0700>, a leading provider of Internet, mobile and telecom value-added services in China, announced yesterday that its net profit rose 32% YoY to RMB 3.1 billion in the second quarter of this year, boosted by strong growth in advertising and game revenues.
In the first half, the company's net profit amounted to RMB 6.05 billion, up 15.9% YoY.
Tencent Holdings' total revenue surged 54.3% from the same period of last year to RMB 20.18 billion in H1.
Revenue from Internet value-added services, the largest revenue source, jumped 42.6% YoY to RMB 15.17 billion in the first six months. E-commerce revenue was RMB 1.61 billion in the period, and revenue from online advertising business grew 79.0% to RMB 1.42 billion.
At the end of June, the company had 469 million microbloggers and 598 million active Qzone users.
