Chongqing Municipality sees its export and import value surged 50% YoY to US$30.24 billion in the first seven months of this year, according to the latest statistics released by the Chongqing Customs.
The figure has exceeded US$29.22 billion it realized in whole year 2011.
In the first seven months, the city's exports were US$22.24 billion, reflecting a YoY increase of 210% and ranking tenth in the country.
The value of exports and imports under processing trade was US$8.04 billion and US$960 million in the seven-month period, up 310% and 220% from a year earlier, respectively.
Meanwhile, foreign invested enterprises in Chongqing contributed US$13.41 billion in total export and import value, up 140% YoY and accounting 44.4% of the city's total.
From January to July, Chongqing exported 19.89 million units of laptops, 340% more than it realized in the same period of 2011.
