Aug. 6, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Honda Motor Co, a major Japanese carmaker, announced today that its joint ventures in
China sold 52,045 vehicles in China market in July this year, reflecting a YoY increase of 1.3%.
Guangqi Honda Automobile Co, a 50:50 joint venture hold by automaker Honda Motor Co and Guangzhou Automobile Group Co, sold a total of 24,378 vehicles in July, reflecting a YoY decrease of 20.5%.
At the same time, Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co, another JV between Dongfeng Motor Corp and Honda Motor Co, saw its auto sales reached 27,667 vehicles last month, up 33.3% from the same month of last year.
In the first seven months of 2012, the Japanese automaker saw its China sales totaled 379,058 units, 17.4% more than the same period of last year.
Guangqi Honda Auto's sales rose 8.5% YoY to 185,024 vehicles from January to July 2012, and Dongfeng Honda sold a total of 178,356 vehicles in the seven-month period, 29.5% more than it realized a year earlier.
