China's merger and acquisitions was 68 in July this year, the same as in June, according to statistics released by Zero2IPO Research Center.
Of the 68 M&A deals, 63 reported total transaction value of US$2.20 billion.
About 60 deals were transacted by domestic enterprises in China, and 57 deals recorded transaction value of US$1.38 billion. The number of M&As launched by Chinese companies in the overseas market was only 8, and six reported M&A value of US$828 million, accounting for 37.5% of the total. No overseas firm completed any M&A in China last month.
Last month, the machinery manufacturing industry topped rankings in terms of the number of M&A cases, and the figure stood at 8. The biotechnology, medical and healthcare sector came in second with 7 M&A cases, followed by the real estate sector recording 6 M&A deals.
In terms of transaction value, the real estate sector was ranked first with value of US$769 million, followed by the financial sector with value of US$378 million.
