Chongqing Municipality saw its gross domestic product grow 14.0% YoY to RMB 530.72 billion in the first half of this year, according to the latest statistics released by the
Chongqing Statistics Bureau.
The growth rate was 0.4 percentage points lower than that in the first quarter but 6.2 percentage points higher than the national average of 7.8% in the period.
Value-added output in the primary industry rose 4.7% YoY to RMB 27.33 billion in the first six months, and that in the secondary sector grew 15.7% YoY to RMB 304.99 billion. The tertiary sector generated RMB 198.40 billion, 12.3% more than in the same period of 2011.
The value-added output of industrial enterprises each with core business revenue of at least RMB 200 billion in the city rose 16.2% to RMB 262.40 billion in H1.
