Jun. 11, 2012 (China Knowledge) – China, the world's largest auto market, saw its auto sales reached 8.02 million units in the first five month of this year, reflecting a YoY increased of 1.7%, according to the latest statistics released by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
The official statistics show the sales of Chinese-made auto rose 15.97% YoY to 1.61 million units during the five months period.
From January to May 2012, the sales of passenger vehicles hit 6.33 million, up 5.48% than a year earlier, while the sale of commercial vehicles decreased 10.31% YoY to 1.69 million units.

000800>. China's top ten automakers sold a combined 7.06 million units during the period, accounted for 88.02% of the country's total sales.
In the first five month of this year, China's auto production amounted to 8 million units, up 3.19% YoY, consists of 6.34 million of passenger vehicles and 1.66 million of commercial vehicles.
