Beijing Benz Automotive Co Ltd, a joint venture established by
Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co and German auto giant Daimler AG, saw its monthly output exceed 10,000 units in May for the first time since its operation. The plant located in
Beijing E-Town's Benz Automotive Park is supported by efficient supply chains of auto parts, components, accessories, R&D and training institutions.
Earlier this year,
Beijing Benz Automotive upgraded its factory and significantly improved the production efficiency. The automaker expects its monthly output capacity to continue improving till the end of the year.
It is estimated that
Beijing Benz's output capacity will exceed 20,000 units or even 50,000 units per month in the near future, said Xu Heyi, President and Board Chairman of
Beijing Automotive Group and
Beijing Benz Automotive Co.
In 2005,
Beijing Benz Automotive Co was formally established in
Beijing E-Town, a
triple-A rated industrial park, and it has become a leading automobile enterprise achieving excellent growth momentum. In July 2011, the automaker became Daimler AG's first overseas engine production plant outside Germany.
According to the company's 12th five year plan, between 2011 and 2015, it aims to have an annual output capacity of 400,000 vehicles, and 500,000 engines by 2015. In the year 2020,
Beijing Benz Automotive Co will become Daimler AG's largest overseas production enterprise.
