Apr. 27, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Quanta Computer Inc, the world's largest contract laptop maker, said Friday that its net profit fell 10.7% year on year to NT$5.1 billion in the first quarter of this year because of weak demand for laptops.
The company said in a statement that its consolidated revenue reached NT$236.22 in the first three months, reflecting a decrease of 6.1% year on year.
The
Taiwan-listed company expected that its laptop shipment in the second quarter would grow between 5% and 10% from the first quarter.
Quanta Computer said earlier that its net profit hit NT$23.5 billion in 2011, up from NT$18.59 billion in 2010.
The company saw its revenue increase to NT$111 billion last year from NT$106.3 billion in the previous year.
