0763>, the second-largest telecom equipment provider in China, expects its data card sales to double from a year ago to 40 million in 2010, said Zhang Yadong, general manager of ZTE's Mobile Broadband Products unit, sources reported.
The company also expects its data card sales to account for around 40% of the world's total this year, compared with last year's 35%, and sales revenue to jump 50% from 2009.
Last year, ZTE's terminal shipments, including shipments of cellphones and data cards, were more than 60 million, 33% more than in 2008.
The
Shenzhen-based company's net profit grew 48.06% year on year from RMB 1.66 billion in 2008 to RMB 2.46 billion in 2009 thanks to booming demand for 3G products in the Chinese market.
A top executive said earlier said that ZTE targets a 30% increase in its revenue this year and in the next few years, thanks to its cellphone unit.
