TCL forecasts 15% growth in sales revenue this year
Mar. 8, 2010 (China Knowledge) - TCL Corp<000100>, a major Chinese TV and mobile phone manufacturer, expects to see 15% growth in sales revenue this year, Li Dongsheng, president of TCL, said on Friday.
Li said that TCL will maintain the same growth momentum in both domestic and overseas markets because the Chinese government continues to unveil stimulus measures to boost domestic consumption.
He also said that the recovering global economy will help TCL achieve its sales goal.
The TV and mobile phone manufacturer saw its net profit in the first nine months of last year plunge 57% year on year to RMB 153.4 million due to poor sales performance in the overseas market amid the global financial crisis and economic downturn. In January, TCL started building an 8.5-generation LCD plant in Shenzhen to satisfy increasing demand for flat-screen TVs, according to an earlier report from China Knowledge.
