Nov. 13, 2009 (China Knowledge) - China's electricity output went up 17.1% year on year to 312.1 billion kWh in October, according to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Wednesday.
During the month, the output of thermal power, which accounts for around 80% of the total electricity output, rose 20.8% from a year ago to 256.1 billion kWh. Nuclear power output increased 4.3% year on year to 6.65 billion kWh, while the country's hydropower output dropped 4.0% to 43.6 billion kWh.
In the first ten months, the total electricity output rose 3.2% year on year to 2.96 trillion kWh.
