Oct. 15, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Chinese stocks opened higher on Thursday morning, tracking gains from the previous closing.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A shares and B shares on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, opened at 2,994.89 points, up 0.82% or 24.36 points from the previous closing.
The Shenzhen Component Index on the smaller Shenzhen Stock Exchange opened 0.97%
