CNOOC may buy into Ugandan oil project

Oct. 5, 2009 (China Knowledge) - CNOOC Ltd<0883><CEO>, the listed unit of China’s largest oil company, China National Offshore Oil Corp, is in talks with U.K.-based Tullow Oil Plc on joining a US$5-billion oil project in Uganda, Dow Jones Newswires reported. The report said that the west-African country is looking to sell stakes in a recent discovery of oil in the Lake Albert region.
