Bank of East Asia considers mainland unit spinoff

Aug. 31, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Bank of East Asia<0023>, the fifth largest lender in Hong Kong, is considering launching a group listing or a mainland unit spinoff, said BEA Deputy Chief Executive Brian Li Man-bun, sources reported. The bank is likely to make its debut on the Shanghai Stock Exchange through the spinoff of its mainland unit in the second half of 2010, said Li, adding that
