Beijing plans to invest RMB 10.4 bln in power grid this year

Aug. 10, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Beijing municipal government plans to invest a total of RMB 10.4 billion in power grid projects this year, representing an 18% year-on-year growth, sources reported.

According to the government plan, 44 110+ kV substations will start construction in the city this year, with 48 power projects to be upgraded.

Moreover, a 110-kilovolt substation on Thursday was put into use in Sujiatun town in Beijing. As one of the key power grid projects in the city this year, it involves a total investment of RMB 88.3 million and covers a land area of 3,101 square meters.

As of the end of 2008, Beijing has 598 substations, with a capacity of 35 kv or above each.
