Hang Seng Index opens 209 points lower on Wed

Jul. 8, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Hong Kong stocks fell on Wednesday morning, with the benchmark Hang Seng Index opening 209 points lower at 17,653. The Hang Seng China Enterprise Index, which tracks the overall performance of 43 mainland Chinese state-owned enterprises on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, opened 164 points lower at 10,511. Air China Ltd<601111><0753> rose 1.02% to HK$3.
