Feb. 9, 2010 (China Knowledge) -Taiwan-based Advanced Semiconductor Engineering Inc, the world's largest semiconductor assembly and testing company by revenue, on Friday said that its net profit in the fourth quarter of last year amounted to NT$3.45 billion, thanks to strong chip demand from upstream manufacturers, sources reported.
The company said in a statement that it turned a profit in the period, whereas it suffered a loss of NT$800 million in the same period of 2008.
Revenue in the fourth quarter of last year was NT$26.29 billion, 44% more than the NT$18.31 billion the company posted in the same quarter of 2008.
