0552>, the nation's largest fixed-line operator, recently set up two new subsidiary companies in Brazil to expand its overseas market.
According to a statement, China Telecom will operate one of the subsidiaries named China Telecom do Brazil Co to provide several services including direct access service, data center management and cloud computing.
While another subsidiary company in Brazil, control by China Communications Services Co Ltd, will provide telecom infrastructure and business outsourcing services.
No more details including timetable and investment scale have been disclosed.
China Telecommunications said that it will set up the second Point of Presence (POP) in Brazil in the second half of 2012.
At present, the Chinese telecom operator had also set up subsidiary companies in several South American countries such as Chile, Colombia, Argentina and Peru, sources reported.
