Apr. 16, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Sales of the Honda CRV ranked first among sport-utility vehicles or SUVs in China
with sales of 21,100 units between January and March, according to a report released by China
Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
The Great Wall Hover ranked second with 18,800 units, followed by the Nissan Qashqai with 14,100 units, the Volkswagen Tiguan with 13,500 units and the Chery Tiggo with 12,900 units.
Sales of top ten SUV models accounted for 70.98% or 124,900 units of total SUV sales in the first three months of 2012.
Among multipurpose vehicles or MPVs, the Dongfeng Lingzhi and the Dongfeng Jingyi both ranked first with 6,400 units were sold in the first three months this year, followed by the Buick GL8 with 5,101 units, the JAC Refine with 4,724 units and the FAW Xenia with 3,487 units.
Sales of top ten MPV models totaled 39,100 units in the period, accounting for 86.5% of the total MPV sales in China
