Apr. 13, 2012 (China Knowledge) – Dongfeng Nissan Auto Co, a joint venture between China's Dongfeng Automobile Co Ltd<600006
> and Japan's Nissan Motor Co, is considering building its China’s fourth passenger car factory in Dalian
Province, sources reported.
The new plant, which is designed to have an annual output capacity of 200,000 vehicles, is expected to start operation in 2014.
The JV will invest about JPY 30 billion to JPY 40 billion or US$371 million to US$494 million in the new plant and it will produce Nissan Murano model, X-Trail model and Nissan's electric vehicles.
At present, Nissan has an annual output capacity of about 1 million vehicles in China, and the Japanese automaker aims to double it by 2015.
