Apr. 12, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Ford Motor Co, the second-largest car company in the U.S., has said that it sold 49,439 cars in China in March this year, 10.6% less than the corresponding period of 2011, due to a decline in the sales of passenger vehicles.
Changan Ford Mazda Automobile Co, Ford Motor's passenger vehicle joint venture in China, sold 27,374 Ford-branded vehicles last month, reflecting a decrease of 17.3% year on year.

>, Ford Motor's commercial vehicle JV, saw its auto sales volume climb 0.5% year on year to 22,005 units in March.
In the first three months of this year, the company's China sales fell 13.6% year on year to 121,393 units.
Ford said earlier this month that it would spend US$600 million to expand its passenger-vehicle output capacity in Chongqing
to 350,000 units.
